Why MeMeMe?
For April Fool's in 2017, a group of cosplayers devised an idea for us to all cosplay the character (sometimes known as Meme Chan) from the music video ME!ME!ME! and pretend that we are all going to the same con. We took it a step further and joked around about how everyone copied our "very original" idea to poke fun at people that don't celebrate having the same costume as another cosplayer, haha. For the record, I LOVE seeing people wearing the same outfit as me, I adore how all the interpretations come out so different and unique.
Anyways, I got invited to this group super late in the game and only had 10 days to sew, shoot, and get pics back, so thankfully I was able to get in done in time PLUS help Anya Braddock and Akakioga Cosplay make identical outfits!

About This Costume
For the dress, I used the wrong side of pink mystique fabric from Joann, and scraps of crepe satin from my Belle cosplay for the yellow hem and ruffle. The edges of the yellow were narrow roll hemmed on the serger, since it was the fastest way to finish it and this costume had to be completed in a short amount of time.
The stockings and gloves were from We Love Colors, and I sewed bands in black mystique onto the tops of them. The shoes and wig I actually happened to have on hand, which was the main reason I decided to join this group so last minute! I actually had the wig for another character who coincidentally has the same exact hair style. The shoes were my Sailor Moon shoes- personally I would pick a brighter red, but I already have enough cosplay shoes! XD
Why MeMeMe?
Naturally, I couldn't NOT make the adorable undergarments for Meme Chan, so I used some scrap spandex and bought a few notions to throw a quick set together, and it came out really nice, for being a rush job! I even digitized the pattern for it and am considering to upload it to my Etsy, but I figured I'd wait until I finish digitizing the dress also, haha.

About This Costume
My bikini covers a bit more than the reference art, and even then, it's still pretty dang skimpy! I really like how it came out though, it almost feels like it could be a real set, had I spent a little more time on it! The white fabric was all scraps I had on hand, since I'm a fabric hoarder and save everything bigger than an index card, hahaha. For the stripes, I taped off a pattern ont he fabric before sewing and actually spray painted the blue on with Design Master spray paint.
The purple edging was done with foldover elastic from Joann, and I added a cute little detail with some purple ruffle elastic for all the straps on the top, and waistband on the bikini. The bows were also premade from Joann and I just hand tacked those on during the car ride to the photoshoot haha.
Why Sailor MeMeMe?
At this point, I had built up quite an assortment of various Sailor Scout accessories and costume parts and had enough to mix and match several pieces. As my own little prank on the pranksters, I created this "Sailor MeMeMe" look. The group never saw it coming! So all around, it was a fun April Fool's group. I got to make a bunch of new friends, create a cute new cosplay, and even pulled off a little joke of my own!

About This Costume
The suit is matte spandex, self-lined for ultimate opacity.
I used matte Casa satin for all other parts of this cosplay. The back bow is actually shared with my Sailor Neptune since they have matching bows- couple goals I guess?
I went for a thinner manga style for my tiara, which was made using PETG plastic and spray painted gold, and it sticks on with fashion tape. The gem is a Swarovski crystal, and I made my brooch with resin casting.
The angled glove rolls were an... interesting thing to build. Eventually I'll upload a tutorial on how I put them together, since it's a lot to explain, but I'm really happy with how they turned out! It came out even better than my Neptune glove rolls, which was my first attempt at them.
I have tutorials on how I made the collar and front bow on my YouTube channel. I'm also adding more parts like how I did the skirt! I have two videos for the skirt up so far, but it's pretty involved, so it's broken up into a few videos. More tutorials will come soon- whenever my video editor decides to work again, hahaha
After making Sailor Mars and Neptune, and having a blast in doing so, I became quite the addict for making senshi uniforms and went on to create several more, including all of the inner planets, and most of the outer planets. Only the Moons and Saturn are left for me to do of the main sailor cast!
Be sure to check out some of my patterns on Etsy if you're interested in making one of these looks for yourself! More patterns and sizes coming soon, also!
