Why Black Widow?
I had originally made my first comic version (which you can read about below this entry!) back in 2015 for a movie premiere, and held onto the suit for some time, since it's always nice to have a classic cat suit on hand. When I decided to upgrade after cosplaying Camie from My Hero, however, I figured why not double dip and use it to also cosplay an updated version of my Black Widow costume? I love how it came out, and now realize... Fujiko Mine needs to happen next too! As well as an updated version of Julia from Cowboy Bebop! See? Cat suits come in handy. XD

About This Costume
Originally made for my updated Camie Utsushimi, the bodysuit was made in one hour using my 2014 Spyro bodysuit pattern with a modified center front panel. I particularly like this pattern because there are no side seams, just the two front princess seams, and one center back seam! To install the zipper, I had to use parchment paper to keep my fabric from sticking to the machine, but other than that, it was very easy to work with!
Most items did not have to get redone or remade from the first comic version, so you can read below on how I put the other pieces of the costume together!
Why Black Widow?
By the time Avengers: Age of Ultron came out, I no longer had my old Black Widow suit, but still wanted to dress up for the occasion! So I decided to whip out a really quick comic-inspired Black Widow costume, but didn't finish the full look until a while later when I completed the look with gloves and her little gold gauntlets. The belt also needs to be redone/repaired now after DragonCon!

About This Costume
This suit is made of black Mystique from Joann fabrics. For this I used the same pattern as my Black Cat costume since I wanted an open top. I feel that having the suit zipped all the way up makes me look really short, haha! The belt was made of worbla and linked with jump rings, and the gauntlets are bullets from a Party City bullet belt that I sewed (yes SEWED- it was tricky) to some elastic with snaps. That was the hardest part of the whole thing, which is why it took so long! Not too challenging, but just one of those tedious tasks that I put off for forever!
Why Black Widow?
When I first saw The Avengers, I was immediately empowered by Natasha's kick ass moves! I really love seeing women in action flicks being incredibly bad ass. Reminds me a lot of how I felt about Black Canary in Justice League: Unlimited. Which come to think of it... perhaps I'm due for a costume for her too! ;P

About This Costume
Admittedly, this suit was one that was bought from an online Halloween shop! The quality was decent, so I figured it would be a great costume for Breakfast Club at my university (which if you don't know, is like Halloween whenever we have a home football game where everyone hits up the bars early in the morning!) since I wouldn't have to worry about it getting stained or damaged while I went out to have a good time!
The boots were some old costume boots I had from my "wanna be" gothic lolita days. Uh, yeah, let's not drag that past back up, hahaha. I did, though, end up selling this suit off and remaking just a very basic one for a comic book look to it!
